Blue: Love in the flood

Blue: Love in the flood

We have had ridiculous amounts of rain lately. The Connecticut River is swollen to the point that the Riverfest celebration was indefinitely postponed. They can’t get the fireworks barges out safely. The current is too strong, and there is debris cascading down the river. We celebrated the Fourth of July New England style, with lobster rolls, which we ate down by the river at the Rocky Hill ferry slip. The ferry (the oldest ferry in the US) wasn’t running because the water was too high to load cars onto the barge. This young couple took advantage of the cool water on hot day by wading out to a bench that is usually well away fro the shore. I liked the way their blue outfits popped against the near jungle of green in the background.

Looks like an intimate conversation…especially with your blur lending a feeling of them being in their own little world.

  2. I like how the color makes them pop out

Nice effect to emphasize the couple on the bench.

Love the way the blues draw the eye into the scene. Did you use Topaz Lens Effects for this?
