Toys: Checkers

Although the plastic make marks these are modern, checkers is a very old game. Last summer, when we went to Old Sturbridge Village (a re-created village from the New England of the 1830s) there was a checkers board on a table of toys from that time. My son and my grandson engaged in quite a spirited contest.
